John Young, MD of Young Health discussed a key medical myth. Then Drew Taylor founder of Juicer Heroes and Elevate Life (EL) talked about the big benefits of fresh organic juice and about Dr. Boss’s (of EL) $49 Second Opinion (bring blood tests to Natural HealthFest.) Next, Physician’s Assistant (PA) Philip Yielding helped us understand the increasingly important role that PA’s play in healthcare. Kris Sands (Reiki practitioner, HTCP, HTAP, and more) from the Star Coyote Sound Temple gave us a brief introduction to energy medicine via body work. Finally, John James, LMT, MT of the C-section Recovery Center explained solutions to the problems that mothers can experience after delivering their babies surgically.

LISTEN to that show in the archives. It is always a treat when Doug Kaufmann comes on the show. He is the host of the popular television program, Know the Cause. He answered listener calls about fungus and yeast-related issues. Then, Robin Bollinger of “Get your head in the game” told us how to do what the name implies. One of her tools is the Interactive Metronome which seems to help kids and adults with anything that requires focus and coordination — athletics, school, work, hmm…radio hosting?

LISTEN to that show in the archives.

Telomeres are components of our chromosomes which house our genetic memory. They are visible under a microscope and are considered a measure of our physical (not calendar) aging. Life Extension Researcher, Rob Martin, explained that telomeres not only affect longevity, but are also associated with conditions of the brain, cardiovascular system, blood sugar and even our appearance. The great news is that they can be repaired! The product he discussed was Telovite. The code for a20% discount is martie.

Later in the program Rhonda Bone, owner of Rhonda’s Nature’s Way in San Antonio, and I discussed the controversy in New York State over supplement quality and how to know if you are buying a good product. Of course, since this is February we talked about key supplements for heart health.

February 7th, 2015

We dug into the medical and political issues surrounding the legalization of medical marijuana. My guest was William Dolphin from Americans for Safe Access. Why is this medicine not legal in Texas for example? What about its use with veterans and the elderly? But, first Kat James, author of The Truth About Beauty, explained how breaking a lot of standard health rules can bring about a real health transformation. Dr. Ohhira’s Probiotics is one of her secrets.

January 17th, 2015

John Young, MD will answer your calls. I’ll probably get the ball rolling by asking him to weigh in on recent listener questions about overactive thyroid (and underactive) and sciatica. Maybe I’ll throw in a question about the flu. But, after that, it is up to you. What do you want to know? Dr. Young is the author of the book, Beyond Treatment about building health from the cellular level up. He will be giving a lecture January 24th in Plano, TX. (Last week’s guest Dr. Smith and I will also be presenting.)

January 10th, 2015

We talked with a young researcher, Kenah Smith. She had surprising answers to the question I’ve always had about which sweeteners feed a yeast overgrowth. Dr. Kyl Smith offered additional ways to reduce a yeast problem. Dr. Smith is also a brain expert and so we talked about his wonderful book, Brighter Mind. Who doesn’t want to improve their concentration, mental energy, memory and mental performance? We touched on which foods, exercises and supplements help the most. We also talked about MemoryWorks and the business opportunity from Xenesta.

January 3rd, 2015

Cristy Moya and Nicole Wallace, staff members from the Kotsanis Institute, joined us to discuss successes using DNA testing to determine the best weight loss approach.
