| The silly guy in the picture above is using an anti-virus disk which if for protecting your computer. Actually, computer viruses work the same way as the coronavirus and other viruses do–they insert information into your cells forcing it to make more viruses. Obviously, the disk isn’t effective protection for his body. However, in the blog this week, I round up many of the useful preventive ideas that we’ve discussed on the show and added more. “The victim mindset dilutes the human potential. By not accepting personal responsibility for our circumstances, we greatly reduce our power to change them.” |

Those of us who are blessed to live in homes with a roof, heat/air and indoor plumbing plus have a stocked refrigerator, probably cannot even imagine what it would be like to be homeless…the extreme discomfort, shame and obvious health challenges of living on a park bench or under a bridge and begging for scraps of food. It is a widely believed that the answer is to give the homeless a house, but that is a MYTH. As it turns out, the situation is much like what we discuss weekly on the show regarding health—it is wiser to solve the basic issue that caused the problem so that it does not become a repeating pattern. If you are like me and sincerely want to help homeless folks (especially the veterans) you might also worry that giving money to panhandlers may just support an addiction. Please tune in this week to learn from Bob Sweeney, Executive Director of the unique, nationally-respected Dallas Life shelter about their impressive program. Homeless No More BOOK. Dallas Life views homelessness as a cry for rehabilitation and provides that in a respectful, intelligent and comprehensive way. It is 90% effective in helping their participants permanently back into a normal job-supported home life. (The average success rate for shelters is only 10%.) We’ll only tell how to best help the panhandler on the corner (link here to request cards to give to the homeless), and give listeners a variety of effective ways to help their community eradicate this shameful stain on our society.
