Personal Updates. Recently, I mentioned that our son and my original Healthy by Nature producer, Andy Hopkins, who lives near Dallas in Celina, TX was graduating from Ohio State on May 5. I think it is cool that his friends in Columbus, Ohio made a banner for his grad party noting that it was his “41-year plan”. You see, when he attended OSU right out of high school, he made a lot of friends but did not quite finish his degree. So, low these many years later, he set about filling in the gaps using local schools and distance learning. It was difficult to study while still managing his UPS store, serving on Celina’s City Council and campaigning for reelection. But he pulled it off and we are very proud of his determination. Happily, he also won his election.

For those of you who have followed Bill’s and my downsizing/move saga, I’m relieved to report that we now have our home of 44 years empty, fixed up, on the market and now in contract. We can focus on getting more settled and organized in our new senior apartment. Yesterday, my sweetheart of a sister-in-law, Jill Russell, helped me get my (second bedroom) office / part time radio studio / health area (sauna and whole-body vibrator) / art studio (!) on the way to being settled.  Bless her heart for putting together shelves and schlepping stuff around for hours thereby saving my back. (There is still a lot to organize in there, so for a while, I’m only going write a blog alternating weeks but I will still send useful tidbits.)

 UPDATES

  • From this online article: “3D eye scans may reveal vital clues about kidney health that could help to track the progression of the disease, and this advance could revolutionize the monitoring of kidney disease which often progresses without symptoms in the early stages, allowing patients to make lifestyle changes that could reduce the risk of health complications.”

 QUOTE of the week

“There are more things … likely to frighten us than there are to crush us;
we suffer more often in imagination than in reality.” Seneca
