News bits on cholesterol, ignored study fraud and shingles

Healthy by Nature radio show this week

It is always a treat when Doug Kaufmann comes on the show. He is the host of the popular television program, Know the Cause. We will answer your calls about fungus and yeast-related issues. Then, Robin Bollinger of “Get your head in the game” will tell us how to do what the name implies. One of her tools is the Interactive Metronome. I hope to learn what that is because it seems to help kids and adults with anything that requires focus and coordination — athletics, school, work, hmm…radio hosting?

NEWS NOTES

Newspaper headline Extra Extra isolated on white background

Except for sending correspondents to war zones and catching predators on film, it seems that the media can now longer afford to do real investigative reporting…at least on health matters. Many important stories are missed or “spun” until they are no longer useful. Click here to read my blog about the new diet guidelines regarding cholesterol, the FDA ignoring fraudulent studies and about issues regarding shingles and home remedies.

Last Week Follow-up

LISTEN to that show in the archives. We discussed shingles and the homeopathic shingles vaccine alternative with Cathy Lemmon, BA, CHP. She told us about a big conference to be held in Dallas in the fall. This site links to studies. Also one of our favorites, pharmacist and brainiac, Jim LaValle, R.Ph., C.C.N. talked about inflammation and its role in heart disease, early aging, obesity, diabetes and autoimmune conditions. He is the author of Your Blood Never Lies, How to Read a Blood Test for a Longer, Healthier Life. Speaking of brainiacs, Lee Cowden, MD will talk about a new opportunity for health professionals (and avid lay people) to learn about functional medicine and receive CEU credit for it.Click here for information on ACIM.
