Panic attack

PANIC!
Whenever people have panic attacks I always recommend magnesium. Good thing I take it morning and night because I had a panic this week. I got the dreaded BSOD. Blue Screen of Death is not something you want on your computer. After two days in the shop, I just got the darn thing back at 5PM today. (You know how when the power is off, most of us instinctively keep flipping light switches anyway? I reached for my computer dozens of times because it is so woven into the very fabric of my life.)

Long ago I learned to have a backup on an external hard drive and an online backup for good measure. So, even in the darkest hour of this crisis, I knew I’d only have to pull a few days’ work out of the clouds. (Had no time for that!) So, I’m grateful to have retrieved all data, but I am now reloading a number of my programs, trying to learn a new operating system (Windows 8 vs. 7), hunting relocated files, installing network and printer, and restoring the shortcuts and personalizations that made the computer so comfortable. All this to say that, at this point, it is either feed Bill or write a newsletter. Bill wins. Well, at least I gave you tip about the magnesium for anxiety and panic attacks and a hint to keep backups.
