On Healthy by Nature this week: The “expert” recommendations about what we should eat are nothing if not confusing. This week I go to the very top for a straight answer. I’ll interview Walter Willett, MD, PhD. He’s the well known head of the Department of Nutrition at Harvard University and the author of hundreds of studies. I’ll ask him to sort the myths from the facts about carbs, fats, meat intake, artificial sweeteners and all the rest. There’s probably no point in asking his opinion of producer Andy’s favorite Texas State Fair treat—deep fried peanut butter, jelly and banana sandwiches. Call in with your questions at 1-800-281-8255.
TAKING A WEE BREAK THIS WEEK
The Health e-Note is basically taking this week off. We are happy that our underpaid and overworked tech guy, my brother Jim Russell, is getting a well-deserved vacation starting tomorrow. (By the way, if you have a small business that needs help with your computer system, website or online store, visit his site Affordable PC Help.) I should have gotten the newsletter to him ahead of time, but was just too busy preparing for the Dallas lecture event last night. I respect your time and so would rather miss a week than send out something that hasn’t been properly researched. On the other hand, I didn’t skip the mailing entirely because I wanted to make sure you knew about the Dr. Willett interview. See you next week.
