• “Beet Juice Was Better Than a Drug for Lowering Blood Pressure. ”An encouraging article by People’s Pharmacy discussed both the side effects of some blood pressure medications and the research showing the benefits of beets. Some time ago I wrote a blog about the many other health benefits of beets (even brain health) and about my secret weapon delicious source that is healthier than the chews you might see on TV. Note: magnesium is also helpful.

• There are plenty of problems related to summer heat, but here is one you might not think to avoid. The interior of your car can not only be very uncomfortable, but after baking in the sun, also more toxic. Hormone / nerve disrupting and cancer-causing chemicals fume off flame-retardant materials up to 5 times more in the summer than in cool temperatures. Auto models newer than 2015 are especially likely to have this issue. [Seems to be another example of the attitude: “Never mind testing. Let’s, forge ahead with new technologies and let the human guinea pigs show us the health downsides?] Moving to Alaska is appealing but not a very convenient solution. Studies need to be done, but logic says it would help to air out the car before you get in (finally a good use for the sunroof?) and keep the vent set to “circulate outside air”. Of course, there is always Uber.

• Those of us who were willing to keep an open mind and listened received many warnings about the potential dangers of the covid vaccines. Although the promotion of the shots came largely from government insiders and big pharma shills, in contrast, the warnings were often from uncompromised respected scientists and even from experts who were involved in the development of the technology. Now, we are beginning to get analysis of data showing that those of us who were wary were indeed safer. For example: A Systematic REVIEW of Autopsy findings in deaths after covid-19 vaccination. [Of course, a while back the truth came out that the vaxx did not live up to anywhere near its hype for prevention or spreading of the disease. Now the risk/benefit ratio is known to be even further off kilter.]
