Healthy by Nature radio show THIS WEEK
test

Today my guest is Pamela W. Smith, MD, MPH, MS . She spent the first twenty years of her practice as an emergency room physician with the Detroit Medical Center in a level 1 trauma center. Dr. Smith is a diplomat of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Physicians and is an authority on wellness and functional medicine. She is a founder of the Fellowship in Anti-Aging, Regenerative, and Functional Medicine. Dr. Smith has been featured on CNN and is the best-selling author of ten books. We have discussed her book about women’s hormones, another on building immunity, and another on weight loss. This time we discuss her new book: Maximize Your Male Hormones: Symptoms, Causes, and Treatments of Men’s Most Common Health Disorders. Dr. Smith also mentioned the importance of nutritional balance and her book: Vitamins, Minerals, Herbs and So Much More―SECOND EDITION: Choosing the Nutrients That Are Right for You. Note, the bulk of this show previously aired on March 29, 2023.

 UPDATES

American Botanical Council
recently reported this: “Caffeine Alternative: Alpinia galanga Extract Increases Alertness, Decreases Fatigue. A botanical ingredient supplier, OmniActive, has unveiled the findings of a recent clinical trial supporting the activity of its enXtra ingredient as a caffeine substitute in the expanding energy supplement industry.” I searched and found this product from a company I have visited and believe to be responsible.

Tomato a vegetable or a fruit? It depends on who you ask. Chefs would usually say vegetable. Botanists say fruit because tomatoes are formed from flowers, have seeds and are involved in the plant’s reproduction. By that calculation, eggplant, okra, cucumbers and squash are also fruits. (Tomato sauce on pizza, yes and maybe peppers which are also technically fruit. However, one fruit, pineapple, is a topping prone to start arguments.) In 1893, the Supreme Court of the United States decreed that the tomato should be classified as a vegetable rather than a fruit for purposes of tariffs, imports and customs. (Nix v Hedden). Likewise, the USDA counts tomato (paste in sufficient quantity on a pizza and even catsup) to be counted as a vegetable in school lunches. Aw, what do they know? USDA says pickle relish is a vegetable.

 LAST WEEK Show Follow-up

LISTEN to that show in the archives.

We update the science on Covid 19, the vaccines, long covid and even some cardiology with Peter McCullough, MD who is surely the most straight-spoken, ethical, non-conflicted and legitimately-authoritative expert on these topics. Dr. McCullough is an internist, cardiologist, epidemiologist, and the editor of respected medical journals. He is a scientist and the world’s most frequently published cardiologist in his renal specialty. He has paid a heavy price for speaking the truth, losing his position as a university professor and even being sued. He did not mention this but I can see he approves of this Spike Support Formula to use if you have had covid or the jabs.
