The Gift of Hope

It upsets me greatly to hear doctors warn patients away from alternative treatments saying that those only offer “false hope”. First, the definition of hope is “the feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best.” Therefore, if you have hope, you do have it and therefore it cannot logically be false. Perhaps that doctor doesn’t have hope but that doesn’t mean the patient can’t. This factor is important because a person’s outlook and emotions have a very powerful effect on the healing process. People of faith point to the power of prayer as the likely reason for many mysterious “spontaneous remissions”. Also, there almost certainly useful remedies that the doctor has just not learned about. Therefore, saying “false hope” is not only a stupid thing to say, but it is also arrogant. Bernard Baruch said, “There are no such things as incurable, there are only things for which man has not found a cure.” Below are a couple of recent examples to prove my point.

  • Let’s say that a person has a bad knee. The doctor might say, “this is a bone-on-bone joint and there is no hope for it getting better. Let’s just cut it out and give you a knee made of metal that will last a few years before it needs to be replaced.” The doctor could reasonably be negative about dietary supplements restoring such a knee, but he or she has apparently not seen the dramatic before and after x-rays due to the use of stem cell therapy. Another all too common problem is diminished kidney function. The patient is told that there is no hope for those kidneys and the person must be on dialysis until they can find someone to donate another one. Oops, stem cells have often restored normal kidney function. Autoimmune disease is another condition where the only hope given is to calm the symptoms with drugs and manage the decline. However, stem cell therapy can help the immune system get back on track, so it no longer attacks healthy tissue. Because stem cells naturally go to and help with inflammation, degeneration, and immune dysregulation (underactive or overactive), you can imagine all the ways it offers hope. If you know someone with a problem like these, please give them the gift of hope by telling them to get a complimentary consultation from a health professional at Infinity Matrix (800) 507-6509.
  • The scariest time to hear the words “false hope” is with a cancer diagnosis. Depressing news for sure and we must remember that depression lowers immune function. Our immune system is the key. Cancer treatments per se (surgery, chemo and radiation) do not cure cancer. The idea is that they remove enough cancer cells to give the patient’s immune system a fighting chance to solve the problem. There are hundreds of natural ways to fight cancer (check our Library), but they might work too slowly or indirectly to count on them at this late and alarming time. Recently, drug companies have developed immune drug therapies. They sometimes help but just with certain cancers and at enormous expense and can have worrisome side effects. Gosh, if only there was a way to wake up the immune system without it going overboard and damaging healthy tissue. Oh wait, there is. During the Dec 4th 2021 interview, health investigative journalist, Bill Sardi, having analyzed the science and talking to experts around the world, he was able to answer two critical questions (1) Vitamin D is extremely beneficial to immune function, but why does it not always perform as expected in studies? This article tells how. (2) How can we effectively activate macrophages (those powerful Pacman-like immune cells) without having them cause damage from excess inflammation? Macrophage Activating Factor (MAF) can do that and is the subject of Several clinical trials underway. If you haven’t already, please listen to his interview and read the details starting at about 1/3 of the way into this remarkable document. MAF from Japan is now available in the US by calling 702 682-9945. (It is expensive, so probably just practical for someone with a serious immune challenge rather than for prevention.)

This Christmas (and always), give the gift of hope if you have the opportunity.

Relax your way to better health

Relax your way to better health

Premature aging, pain, fatigue, and serious diseases if not caused by, are at least worsened by toxics we all encounter daily. The far infrared sauna (FIR) is a wonderful tool for detoxifying and reversing much of the damage that has been done. It is recommended for helping with a host of health issues–everything from Asthma and Fibromyalgia to Cardiovascular problems and Weight gain. This scientific study is one of many that detail the restorative uses. Listen to my 2021 interview on sauna.

TOXINS. Our health is being gradually eroded by 80,000 or more toxic (and even cancer-causing) chemicals such as mercury, pesticides, herbicides and industrial solvents. They contaminate our air, food and water. Shockingly, very few of those chemicals have been tested for health safety and none have been tested in the ever-evolving combinations in which they occur. Hormone-disrupting chemicals and plasticizers lurk in food packaging, body care products, medical supplies and even cash register receipts. Although a well-nourished healthy body can disarm normal metabolic waste products and some toxins, unfortunately, our cells, organs, joints, muscles, brains and precious internal army of beneficial bacteria were simply not designed to handle a continual massive diet of this chemical soup.

Sherry Rogers, MD, brilliant author and frequent guest on our radio show said: “Studies now confirm that diet and environmental chemicals cause 95% of cancers. Furthermore, as the first generation of man exposed to such an unprecedented plethora of daily chemicals, we have learned that stored or un-detoxified chemicals can mimic any disease. ‘Incurable’ chronic diseases that were thought to have no known cause often disappear once toxic chemicals are gone. Since the far infrared sauna is the safest, most efficacious, and economical way of depurating [detoxifying] stored toxins, this makes it a household necessity.”

Detoxification helps REDUCE:

    • Chronic Pain  ●  Fatigue   ●   Inflammation   ●   Body Fat  ●  Disease Risk ●  and Premature Aging

POWERFUL DETOXIFIER. The far infrared sauna helps the body eliminate toxins safely because it activates cells to release them from storage and eliminate them in sweat through the skin. Other detox methods can send poisons out in the blood stream which stresses our delicate kidneys which must filter them. FIR is a more effective detoxifier than regular sweat from exercise or being in a hot environment. The Relax FIR Sauna creates a type of sweat that is denser and oilier than normal sweat. That is because the sauna sweat is carrying wastes and toxins—not just water and electrolytes.  It removes stubborn plasticizers that we accumulate heavy metals and organophosphate agricultural chemicals. The FIR energy penetrates deep into tissues, energizing cells and encouraging them to do their normal work including the expelling of stored toxins. Doctor’s tests of patients’ heavy metal body burden before and after sauna therapy prove it works.

The Relax Far Infrared sauna doesn’t burn skin. In fact, it improves skin health by increasing circulation, opening the pores, and encouraging the body to sweat out wastes and toxins. Unlike traditional saunas, the temperature of the Relax Far Infrared Sauna is generally regarded as safe even for heart patients. Of course, just as would be the case with exercise or sun exposure, persons with serious medical conditions or who are on strong medications should consult their physicians.

A KEY MISSING HEALTH FACTOR. Our modern lifestyles have reduced many benefits of a more primitive existence. Unlike our ancestors, we are less active and do not daily experience the relaxing and healing effects of being out in nature. Today, to avoid skin cancer, most of us also miss the benefits of frequent sun exposure. As you probably know, our skin makes vitamin D when touched by ultraviolet rays in sunlight. However, there is a less well-publicized component of sunshine. It is not visible and will not give you a tan but is very important—the loving light of life—far infrared wave lengths. That is the type of energy that makes plants flourish and penetrates through sand thereby encouraging turtle eggs to hatch. FIR is also the healing energy that radiates from massage therapists’ hands. Infrared waves vibrate and activate water molecules. That matters because according to a US government website, “the brain and heart are composed of 73% water, and the lungs are about 83% water. The skin contains 64% water, muscles and kidneys are 79%, and even the bones are watery: 31%.” Poor health results when the mitochondria (like a battery) in our cells do not supply enough energy to carry out the cells’ normal work. The FIR delivers these healing rays deep into the body where they also quickly raise your core body temperature (an important healing factor) from the inside more efficiently than heat from the outside. You can think of FIR as an important health supplement.

Far Infrared Wavelengths BOOST:

  • Blood Circulation     ● Lymphatic Drainage
    ● Cellular Energy     ● Metabolism
    ● Oxygenation    ● Immune Function
    ● Healing Speed           ● Recovery Time
    ● Skin health                 ● Relaxation (even muscle cramps)
  • Sleep quality ● YouTube has 700 testimonials covering a wide variety of personal experiences

There are so many ways far infrared helps the body that it is no wonder the Relax FIR Sauna is used in clinics that treat Lyme disease, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and even cancer.

HOW TO USE THE SAUNA. Benefit from a Relax Far Infrared Sauna by relaxing on a comfortable chair inside a zippered enclosure for a few minutes while the special compact generator units bath you in far infrared energy waves. (The chair comes with the sauna. I add a folded cotton towel.) The lightweight nylon tent-like enclosure has a silver reflective lining to maximize the benefits of the invisible light waves. The temperature is soothing and comfortable—not at all like the searing eye-ball-stewing saunas at the gym. (The waves penetrate cloth, so you do not have to be naked.) Sessions need last only 5-20 minutes, but your hands (if you prefer) and head are free so that you can read or, as I do, watch a TV baking show.

WHY SPECIFICALLY RELAX BRAND?  Don’t be fooled by cheap lookalikes found on the internet. The enclosures may look similar, but that is where the similarity ends. The real magic comes from the Relax FIR wave generators. Some so-called “bargain” models create very little actual far infrared energy and therefore, if you want results, they are no bargain. In contrast, the Relax patented ceramic generator, with specialized semi-conductor chips, program wavelength and temperature to filter out all non-healing waves so that your body can fully absorb many times more of the deep-penetrating desirable 4-14 micron energy without having to defend against other rays. In fact, this sauna is the only portable infrared sauna that uses the technology certified by the FDA as a medical device. Relax Sauna carries both CE and GS approval certificates. It generates 100% of the purest, cleanest, most intensely soothing far infrared light of any device that we have encountered. Cheap imitations may off-gas plastic fumes which the Relax does not. Wooden units with big panels to generate heat create increased EMF exposure. Relax sauna has silver in the lining to reflect the healing light to all parts of the body. This does not happen with wooden saunas or cheap imitators. The Relax sauna is also FAST—it heats up in just 20 seconds, not in 10-30 minutes as is the case with most saunas. The Relax FIR Sauna is compact, collapsible, and portable and uses only 1500 watts of electricity (comparable to a hair dryer). It is easy to use, store and even take on vacation.

DURABLE VALUE AND HEALTH INVESTMENT: The Relax FIR Sauna will last from 10-15 years with regular use. However, if you only use your sauna for 5 years before you retire to the beach, with our HBN discount, it costs about pennies a day to improve the health and vitality of your whole family! I’m certainly no tax expert, but I would assume that if your doctor is enlightened enough to write a prescription for a sauna, it may be deductible as a medical expense. (Please remember if doing a web search—comparing this sauna to others may be like comparing fresh apples to rotten oranges. We have arranged with Phil Wilson at Relax Saunas to give you a $200 discount if you use the code HBN200 or tell him that you heard about it on Martie’s radio show.

The Far Infrared Table Lamp. The lamp allows you to focus the FIR rays on a particular area, for example: an injury, infection, stomach, lungs, diabetic ulcers, or sinuses. Small enough to have on the nightstand or take to the office. Save $30 with the code HBNLamp.

Environmental estrogens make MEN & WOMEN fat, sick and infertile

During the November 20, 2021 program, we got a wake-up call from Anthony G. Jay, PH.D. about a class of chemicals that are assaulting our bodies and brains. Dr. Jay is a Mayo Clinic researcher and the author of Estrogeneration: How Estrogenics Are Making You Fat, Sick, and Infertile. The quick review below is not a substitute for listening to that show and certainly not for reading his book.

What Xenoestrogens are. There are an increasing number of “endocrine-disruptor” chemicals in our air, food, water, consumer products and environment. (Even some foods such as soy can imbalance hormones.) They can mess with any of our hormones—for example, the thyroid. The category we discussed was xeno-estrogens. “Xeno” means “foreign”. As you know, “estrogen” is a hormone (messenger in the body) that is commonly thought of as for females. Actually, during most of the month, men have about the same blood levels as women. When hormones get out of balance, bad things can happen. Hormone-dependent breast cancer is perhaps the best known example and fake estrogens can have that effect. As the name of Dr. Jay’s book implies, these chemical impersonators can cause many more problems for both genders. The toxic xeno-estrogens can also block receptors for the real thing and interfere with normal benefits.

The problems they cause. We could start with the environment. Xenoestrogens are making whole communities of certain wildlife infertile and killing coral reefs. In humans, the chemicals are linked to Alzheimer’s, cancers (breast cancer up 250% since 1980), depression, diabetes, early-onset puberty, endometriosis, infertility (fertility down 50% since 1960), “man boobs” (even in toddlers), miscarriage and obesity (doubled since 1980). Birth control pills are hormones used to upset the balance on purpose. It appears that high estrogen levels reduce testosterone, which in addition to supporting cardiovascular health and muscle strength in both genders, also improves libido. These compounds affect the way our genes behave and that information is passed along to many future generations. That process is called “epigenetics”.

Sources of xeno-estrogens. Common sources that we discussed on the show are the plastics in water bottles, the linings of cans and paper cups and packaging. BPA is a well known member of this class and it is also sprayed on the paper used for register receipts. Beware of products claiming to be “free of BPA because they may have simply substituted BPS or one of the other BP line that have the same effects. Look at the recycling codes for a clue. Avoid #1.  Better numbers are 3, 4 and 5. Avoid storage of foods and beverages in plastic and certainly don’t microwave food in plastic.

Food additives like red food color and food contaminants such as many pesticides (especially on grains) and herbicides (think Roundup) have estrogenic effects. So, whole, natural, organic food is best. Dr. Jay says to avoid soy foods (unless fermented) because they are too strong a source of plant estrogens. Body care products (e.g. sunscreen, shampoo, and creams) with fragrances, parabens and other additives have estrogenic effects. They are a big problem because they absorb into circulation with no chance of being detoxified in the gut. Also, watch out for laundry detergent and household cleaning products. Wash new clothing because it might have been treated with these chemicals. Marijuana smoked is estrogenic, but not the edibles. This website has a list of sources (and the site I thank for the graphic) and here is another site.

Removing xeno-estrogens from our bodies. The best place to start, of course, is to avoid taking more in. We should also remember that fat cells make estrogen which, even though natural, adds to the estrogen load. Eating a lot of good green foods is a positive start on detox (and weight loss). Dr. Jay says that the Far Infrared Sauna is a big help. Use a water filter because the compounds are now in tap water. Exercise regularly. When Dr. Jay is on the next time we’ll ask him more about detoxification.

“We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.” Often attributed to Benjamin Franklin

A Very Positive Negative

“Negative” usually indicates something bad, right? Well, not if you test “negative” for a disease and certainly not in the case of negative ions in the air. Those are what make us feel so invigorated when we are around a waterfall or the shore. They make us feel so good that Dr. Earl Mindell, the renowned pharmacist and prolific author, discusses negative ions his book, The Happiness Effect—The Positive Benefits of Negative Ions.** More about negative ions below

It is tempting to think that if we can’t see something, it doesn’t matter. However, the roughly 374 accidental deaths per year in the US from invisible carbon monoxide are a good example that isn’t true. (Every home should have a CO detector.**)

We can’t see most energy waves either, but they have risk of benefit for us. For example, ionizing radiation can kill or cause cancer. In this modern age, where every thing and every body seem to be connected, we are constantly being bombarded with various energy waves—e.g. from cell phones, cell phone towers, cordless phones, computers and tablets, Wi-Fi, blue tooth, smart TV’s, satellites, fluorescent lights, smart speakers, HVAC systems, refrigerators and other appliances that “communicate”, baby monitors, and “smart meters” installed by the water, gas or electric utilities. We don’t yet know about the long-term effects of the EMF from the giant batteries in electric cars, but all modern cars are loaded with electronics. The effects of all these sources of electromagnetic frequencies (EMF) are yet to be proven safe and there is strong evidence that they mess with human cells. In December, I will interview an expert on the health effects of the new “5G” cell technology. EMF, pollution, mold, printers and photocopiers, etc. also create positive ions which have a negative effect on brain function and the immune system…pretty much the exact opposite of the benefits of negative ions. People can notice symptoms such as: anxiety, breathing difficulty, fatigue, headaches, irritability, and even nausea.

As Dr. Earl Mindell details in his book, The Happiness Effect.** negative ions have many health benefits. For example, the small ionbox negative ion generator can clear the air of bacteria, viruses, odors, dust, pollen, pet dander and other allergens. The negative ions also balance out the unhealthful effects of positive ions noted above. My radio studio at the network is a double threat. The walls are covered in carpet for sound deadening but may also contain dust and mold. The room is filled with electronic equipment and shares a wall with a huge bank of computers. So, to combat the positive ions and filter out any crap in the air, I bring in my Ionbox every week. It is extremely portable and I have 2 more at home.

The negative ion generator that I use is ionbox**. It is small, very affordable and would make an excellent health-promoting holiday gift. Win a FREE ionbox–your choice of any of their products! Before midnight Dec 4 send an email with your street mailing address to [email protected] (type “contest” in the subject line). Note, if you don’t get the newsletter, we will add you but we never share listener email addresses. (There is an “unsubscribe” link on each issue.)  If you buy an ionbox and are the winner, you will be able choose a refund or an additional unit for another part of the house.

Another invisible wavelength, Far InfraRed, such as provided by FIR saunas is wonderful and has multiple health benefits.  We will discuss them on the show 11/27/21.

Bill Sardi Answers MORE Questions

The following is a review of points covered during Bill Sardi’s October 30, 2021 interview.

  • Link to McCullough article on the Lew Rockwell site that Sardi mentioned.
  • Social Security. if adjusted for inflation, today’s average monthly payment, instead of $1,453 would be $7,611! (Good lesson here about the loss of buying power with inflation and why we should be alert to and concerned about the current wave.) The action of most all drugs can be duplicated more safely with dietary supplements…and without side effects. But, too often people who are strapped for cash go with pharmaceutical drugs simply because insurance pays for them.
  • Diff news. Clostridioides difficile is an often-deadly bacterial infection that causes diarrhea which is very hard to stop even with the most aggressive antibiotics. The news announced a discovery that the drug Ebselin is helpful for that infection. That drug is merely a synthetic form of the natural antioxidant, glutathione. Sardi pointed out that the body can make glutathione from Vitamin E and selenium. [I’d like to add that the probiotic strain ME3 makes glutathione in your intestinal tract on a continuing basis.] The reckless use of antibiotics has increased the risk of C. diff by killing off our protective bacteria and make disease bacteria antibiotic-resistanct.
  • Statin drugs alternative? Cholesterol is needed by the body to make sex hormones and vitamin D as just 2 examples. (Note, 20% of the body’s cholesterol is contained in the BRAIN!) Statin drugs work by interfering with the liver’s ability to make cholesterol. Statins are toxins. Just before statin drugs were developed, Dr. Lester Morrison, MD at Loma Linda University found that his patients with heart damage who were on oxygen and just barely alive had a 7-fold reduction in death when he gave them chondroitin sulfate. (By itself—not with glucosamine.) They also had 62.4% less arterial plaque and an impressive reduction in markers of inflammation. Read Sardi’s article about this for more details.
  • What should a person do if they already got a covid vaccine? Sardi said to take precautions against the clotting that is caused by the spike protein. In an effort to wake up the immune system, the vaccine genetic material (messenger RNA) tells our cells to make the toxic spike protein from the virus. That spike is what allows the SARS-CoV-2 virus (and possibly others) to enter the cell. The spike protein causes inflammation, and the body counteracts that with clotting. Rarely, that clotting takes place in the large arteries and can cause big trouble, for example, stroke or heart attack. The clotting more often takes place in the small blood vessels ones that may for example, feed the heart muscle. (There is a test for clotting, the d-dimer test, but Bill recommends against worrying about doing that.) What helps break up the clots? Garlic and fish oil. Resveratrol (i.e. Longevinex) and the enzymes bromelain (less expensive) and long-acting nattokinase help with both types of clots—i.e. those from fibrin and from platelet stickiness. Those products are available in health food stores. Read more about this topic and other conditions that involve clotting.
  • Osteoarthritis (the so-called wear and tear type). Hyaluronic acid is synovial fluid in joints and hydrates and plumps skin. Estrogen leads to the production of hyaluronic acid…resveratrol is a safe plant estrogen. Rheumatoid arthritis is a different type. That is when the body’s immune system attacks body parts. For that, Sardi suggests vitamins D and A plus resveratrol (Longevinex). [Gut issues are also often involved, so I also recommend Ohhira’s Probiotics.]
  • Depression & Anxiety. Bill recommended not watching the news.😊 Overdoing foods and beverages that contain polyphenols (e.g. in cinnamon, coffee, green tea, dietary supplements such as 500-1,000 mg Curcumin and even high dose resveratrol) can contribute to anxiety. A daily dose of 350 mg combined polyphenols is good…sometimes more isn’t better. (Longevinex has a safe dose.) What helps anxiety? Vitamin B1 in the benfotiamine form (Nerve Guardian) and magnesium which B1 needs anyway. (Watch consumption of sugar and alcohol which block B1.) B12 is helpful for depression and is also contained in Nerve Guardian.
  • If you have been infected with covid at some point – should you do the same protocol as if vaccinated? Bill said, “yes”. That is discussed above. Also, see these two Library pages: Medications for covid and Natural Remedies for covid.
  • Boosters? We noted that the continuing need for boosters is because the vaccines target a specific spike protein and those change due to mutations. (Annual booster will be a nice annuity for the drug companies.) Our natural immunity responds to the whole virus and that is why immunity from having had the disease is stronger and more durable. Keep your immune system strong with vitamin D, zinc, vitamin C, selenium, etc. Read details on the Library Covid Prevention page.

Bill Sardi Answers Questions

When Mr. Sardi was my guest last Saturday, I mentioned that I would summarize points from the show in this week’s blog. As it turns out, I didn’t have time to listen to the show, take those notes and still answer the questions that came in too late. Since people can click this link to listen to the show again in the archives, I thought I’d better tackle the new topic bonus questions first and postpone the review until next week.

  • Question about vision. Lori noted that Bill Sardi said he has 20/20 vision and she wanted to know what supplement to take for that. Bill told me that his 20/20 vision is for distance…he still needs glasses for reading. The point he was making on air was that his eye doctor doesn’t see evidence of aging in his retina (such as the very common cholesterol deposits). Sardi believes that good news is because he takes Longevinex.* We talked about cataracts, and he mentioned that he is currently using eye drops that he thinks are helping. (No guarantees, but I ordered some.) Liquid MSM Drops with Vitamin C – 8 Ounces – Made with Gold Standard Organic Sulfur Crystals, Premium MSM Eye Drops.**
  • Cause or coincidence? Ann is taking a supplement and has developed knee pain. She wonders if there is a connection. Bill said, and this makes sense, that the only way to know is to cease taking the supplement and see if the problem goes away. If it does, restart the pill and see if the problem comes back. This is also a method for tracking down food sensitivities. Mr. Sardi also suggested that Ann try Longevinex Advantage.*
  • Ligaments. Linda has a fallen uterus and wants to strengthen the ligaments that are responsible. Sardi said: Vitamin C with bioflavonoids 3 times a day [probably at least 500 mg each]; hyaluronic acid 50-100 mg; Chondroitin sulfate 1500 mg; and zinc 15-30 mg.
  • Anxiety, depression and sleep issues. Tricia does IASIS Microcurrent neurofeedback (MCN) in Frisco, TX. She is seeing many clients who have anxiety, depression and sleep issues. The MCN works but she would love some idea of supplements to help them get better quicker. Tricia says she suggests magnesium to all of them. [Good idea.] She asked which brand is the best and how much we would recommend. The best mag for the nervous system is magnesium L-threonate. The brand I take is Now Magtein. One capsule before bed and since the elemental magnesium is only 144 mg. per capsule, client can likely also take one during the day without risking a loose stool. She heard Bill Sardi mention B1 for these mood problems. She takes Nerve Guardian and put her mother-in-law on it for neuropathy (she said it’s working!!). But Tricia is unclear why it would help with those mood problems. This article in my library discusses the many benefits of B1, but I should point out that the Nerve Guardian* also contains vitamin B12 which is critical for the brain and nervous systems.
  • Hair coloring. Among other things, last week’s blog discussed the danger of men’s hair coloring. Someone asked if women’s hair coloring had the same problems. Women’s hair dye is different in that it doesn’t contain the toxic lead that is in men’s gradual gray reducers. However, the non-profit Environmental Working Group posts articles on other problems with regular hair dyes and offers alternatives.

OTHER UPDATES:

Side effects of tattoos, shampoos and men’s hair coloring

  • Tattoos. I didn’t plan to talk about tattoos until I drove by a sign in Addison, TX that read “Cat tattoos” Naturally, my first thought was why would a cat want or need a tattoo?* On second thought, surely it is like the “Roach Paint Company” which is not for painting roachesit is just a name. While on the Cat Tattoo website to figure out why they chose that name, I read their FAQ. I did not learn about the name, but the answers to questions about safety were interesting. They dealt mainly with their strict sanitation efforts which is important because infection is a common tattoo problem.

Personally, I do not have a tattoo because (1) I’m not cool; (2) I always worried that the inks may contain heavy metals; and (3) also for vanity’s sake (…what if fades ugly or like the joke goes, “over the decades, a butterfly on the back can become a buzzard in the crack”?). Contrary to what I would have guessed, Harvard says that tattoos don’t negatively effect employability and career advancement.

Searching the science, I found these unintended health consequences of tattoos:

  • This linked article talks about a broad range of side effects, including “Hepatitis B and C and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) transferred by tattooing” which they say “remain a significant risk needing active prevention.” It also mentions that 1 in 5 persons experience sensitivity to the sun after being inked. The scientists note that while chemical carcinogens are present in some inks, there has not been much evidence of an increase in cancer risk. That is perhaps because (except for those who cover their bodies in designs) the tattoo is usually just a one-time small exposure. But, hey, we get a LOT of other little toxic exposures, and they might add up. (E. g. see Shampoo and Hair color below .)
  • Tattoo ink can trigger inflammatory processes. Those typically involve the skin, but in one case, a vision problem.
  • This article is about a reference guide with pictures showing 79 side effects including allergies (especially to red ink).

* Wouldn’t you know it—I found many pictures of cats with tattoos. This photo was from a website, pethelpful.com, which describes why it is cruel to tattoo your cat. They are probably right…the kitty pictured does not look very happy about it.

  • Shampoos. I wish people would understand that what you put on your skin is absorbed into circulation. Ideally, body care products should be safe enough to eat. This article on the Environmental Working Group’s (EWG) website discusses DMDM Hydantoin, which is used as a preservative in shampoos, cosmetics, and other body care products. DMDM Hydantoin is a Formaldehyde-Releaser. (Formaldehyde, as you may recall, is embalming fluid and has been found to cause cancer in lab animals and leukemia in workers who are exposed routinely.) The EWG notes that the main concerns with that chemical seem to be about skin irritation, allergy, immunotoxicity and perhaps aggravation of asthma, but that there are also anecdotal reports of it causing hair loss. It is best to read label ingredients, but at the least, buy these products from a natural foods market that has high standards. EWG has more information and lists of safe products.
  • Men’s gradual “gray away” hair color. I’ve warned clients for a very long time that the products used to gradually darken men’s gray hair contained lead. There is no safe level of lead acetate, a dangerous neurotoxin. One indirect way that it causes harm is that when absorbed into circulation, the body confuses lead with calcium and other essential nutrients. The toxicity of lead has been known for centuries, but US regulations were slow to ban lead in house paint (1977) and gasoline (1996). Since FDA published its final rule in 1995, food cans are not supposed to contain lead. However, in 2019, the nonprofit Environmental Defense Fund found that “a staggering 98% of 70 canned fruit samples” contained lead, apparently from the tin and solder. (There are other reasons to avoid canned food.)  Also, unfortunately, in many cities (like some in Michigan), lead water supply pipes are still sources of dangerous lead contamination. Lead is detrimental to children’s brain development. Potential problems for adults include: multiple myeloma, increase in blood pressure and some evidence of a link to lung cancer, stomach cancer, and gliomas (brain cancer).

Some sources of lead are trickier to dodge, but hair color seems to be avoidable. (At what price vanity?) Hair color products such as the popular Grecian Formula® (now voluntarily lead-free!) are not just a worry because of absorption of lead through the scalp, but also from hands…even from running them through dry hair. A very interesting People’s Pharmacy article points out that the FDA ignored the dye / lead problem for 30 years or more.  Apparently relying on only testing submitted by the manufacturers, the FDA trivialized and mocked consumer concerns for decades until 2018—ten years after Canada banned lead acetate. Even then because of pressure from manufacturers, the agency did not make a final rule until this month (October 2021). Furthermore, companies have until 2023 to be fully compliant. Is this another case of the modern golden rule? (“He who has the gold makes the rules?”) It will take a long while before contaminated inventories are flushed out, so please read labels.

Covid-19 News and Updates

  • General Colin Powell, revered public servant and Former Secretary of State, Dies at 84. His family says the cause was complications of Covid-19 and noted that the retired four-star general had been fully vaccinated. General Powell was at greater risk because he was also fighting multiple myeloma (a cancer of plasma cells) that suppresses the body’s immune response, as well as Parkinson’s Disease.
  • Long lasting immunity to covid-19. Based on what we are being told by the authorities promoting booster shots, vaccine effectiveness fades in months. In sharp contrast, the type of immunity developed by persons who contracted the previous SARS virus has been demonstrated to be still active after 17 years! Read more and share this with those who want to force a vaccine on the covid-recovered.
  • Monoclonal Antibodies Work: 85% Less Hospitalizations for Covid, according to that linked article. For more information, visit the official government website. The call center for information on where and how to receive monoclonal antibodies is 877-332-6585. Important notice: for some unknown (stupid) reason, once a person has been admitted to the hospital, they can no longer receive the monoclonal antibodies, so get them early (in the first 10 days) as outpatient or at least demand them in the ER before admission to the hospital as a patient.
  • Peter McCullough, MD also advises to demand FULL DOSE blood thinners to avoid clots. He points out that dropping oxygen levels is clotting, not the virus.
  • This video interview of Peter A. McCullough, MD by Dallas area physician, Alfred Johnson, DO is rich with useful info. CLICK HERE to watch the video. Typical of topics covered:

→ There is no asymptomatic spread but do pay attention to symptoms, even the sniffles.

→ Early outpatient treatment saves lives and can help prevent long haulers.

→ No vaccines for children!

→ Use Zinc, vitamin C, Quercetin, vitamin D.

→ Oral hygiene is important. Use hydrogen peroxide, povidone iodine and certain other mouth rinses can reduce viral load.

→ Push your physician to treat you early at home.

→ The drugs Hydroxychloroquine, ivermectin, budesonide (steroid), and full dose aspirin are all acceptable to use (off label) for covid treatment. Get on early treatment and if hospitalized, don’t let them water down your treatment protocol.

→ Treatment should continue even after discharge from the hospital. Video gives varying lengths by age, but note over age 80, 30 days is recommended or even 90 days.

→ They discuss the use of hyperbaric oxygen and other help for “Long haulers”

Mandates and Exemptions

Can you be forced to take a vaccine?

(Thought about the graphic—if you are in front of the nurse with the syringe, you probably waited too long to investigate options.)

After the initial announcement of his Executive Order, President Biden very quickly changed the wording of his messaging from “mandate” to “requirement”. He apparently thought that would elicit a less emotional response. Mr. President, we are smart enough to translate them both into = we MUST get vaccinated by Nov 22 if we are in one of the segments of the population over which you believe you have control. More precisely, we’d better get the vaccination before Nov. 8 because the CDC doesn’t consider us vaccinate until 2 weeks after the shot. The rule is supposed to cover federal employees, the military, companies holding government contracts, private companies who employ more than 100 (except oddly the Post Office) and perhaps other groups like colleges, if they can dream up an excuse. Only time and the courts will determine if that executive order is constitutional and enforceable. Some liberty-loving states such as Texas are trying to override the mandates. Meanwhile, employers are not likely to risk hefty fines, legal fees, and bad press by failing to comply with the fed requirement. Actually, some companies had already planned to mandate vaccines for their own perceived benefit.

If, for whatever reason, you do not wish to get the jab, I think you should be able to simply decline it or any other medical procedure. (Sadly, neither the President nor big companies asked my opinion!) Other than quitting your job, there are some limited exemptions worth checking out.

Medical exemptions? Anyone who has studied the science and the statistics might conclude that we all have good reason to ask for a medical exemption.

  • Recovered patients? There is ample scientific evidence that the immunity acquired from having recovered from covid is superior to that from the shots. Furthermore, the recovered are more at risk for negative reactions to the vaccines. It seems that the CDC may be purposely trying to mislead us on the topic. Read more.
  • Persons with autoimmune conditions. There seems to be an increased risk of vaccine side effects in this group. Read more. That doesn’t mean they will necessarily be allowed to dodge the jab.
  • Check out this shocking article by Ronald Neil Kostoff, PhD, entitled REAL-WORLD COST-BENEFIT SCENARIO FOR COVID-19 “VACCINES”. It methodically blows away all the misleading fog of overly optimistic assumptions and deliberate misrepresentations at every level used by the authorities to justify their vaccine pressure. Kristoff shows that conservatively, 15 people will likely die from vaccine side effects for every life saved by the vaccines. That is the “cost to benefit (c/b)” ratio. Worse yet, that is only concerning seniors. The c/b for younger people and children is apparently much worse. Don’t you imagine that some of the crowding in ICU’s is from patients with vaccination side effects which can sometimes look like the disease?
  • Then there is the promised benefit of the vaccines…you know how they said they would keep you from getting sick and protect others from the spread.
    • In July, there was a covid outbreak after a large event in Barnstable County, Massachusetts and 74% of those infected were fully vaccinated.
    • Israel’s Health Ministry says that the covid vaccine is only 40% effective at halting transmission. Israel authorities also say that the Pfizer shot is only 39% effective against the Delta variant. Other sources say as low as 20% after 6 months.
    • Afraid of new variants, mass vaccination during a pandemic is the cause of virus mutations. Video.
    • Scariest is an article by our hero Peter A. McCullough, MD which stated that “while moderating the symptoms of infection, the jab allows vaccinated individuals to carry unusually high viral loads without becoming ill at first, potentially transforming them into pre-symptomatic super-spreaders…251 times the viral load of SARS-CoV-2 as compared to samples from the pre-vaccination era in 2020.” (There are differences in the strains in this comparison, but still…won’t this will be a serious issue especially for healthcare workers mandated to be vaxxed?)

(Let’s stop allowing the demonizing the unvaccinated! It may very well turn out that they were right all along.)

The statistics above are certainly convincing to me. Unfortunately, even if your doctor believes them, he or she may not feel safely empowered to use them as reasons for issuing an exemption. There are compelling reasons for individuals to receive a medical exemption. Examples include history of severe allergies and/or allergy to an earlier shot or to a vaccine ingredient such as polyethylene glycol (PEG). This linked article has good general information about medical exemptions but some of the rules apply mainly to Australian rules.

Temporary exemptions for a few months may be given for individuals with high fevers or serious illness or current surgery. A temporary exemption might also be granted to someone who had a serious reaction such as heart inflammation to the first dose of Pfizer and Moderna.  (Temporary doesn’t sound great, but who knows, mandate rules might loosen during the run of a temporary exemption.)

Religious exemptions

It is encouraging that in a unanimous decision, Oct. 7, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in Cincinnati, Ohio upheld the rights of 16 un-vaccinated athletes to use religious vaccination exemptions. The court judged that the students’ first amendment rights were violated when Western Michigan University mandated that all its inter-collegiate athletes get the COVID-19 vaccination shot and ignored or rejected the athletes’ requests for a religious exemption.

Likewise, a federal court extended a ruling that requires New York state to allow religious exemptions regarding mandates for healthcare workers.

Children’s Health Defense reported that “a federal judge in Texas has temporarily stopped United Airlines’ plan to put employees on leave if they have requested an exemption to the company’s COVID vaccine mandate.”

Note that Liberty Counsel is helping make sure that reluctant organizations allow the exemptions.

National Legislative Right to Refuse Campaign

Hmmm. This whole mandate issue may end up being decided one lawsuit at a time or go to the Supreme Court. You probably cannot wait for that.

Consider:

  • A Pfizer whistleblower shows emails trying to cover up the fact that cell lines from aborted fetal tissue were using in the testing of the vaccine. Video.
  • This website looks to be a good source of forms for a religious exemption. CLICK HERE.
  • Religious Exemption Fact Sheet (and download forms).
  • Here is another. Fill out the form on this website, and a PDF will be emailed. If an original signature is required, it will take 5 business days to be sent by USPS. All at no cost of course, just be patient as they are receiving 1000s of requests.
  • Resources That You Can Use to Inform Your School or Employer. Read about them.
  • Millions Against Medical Mandates (MAMM), is a coalition of health freedom organizations and individuals. Their website has a good deal of information about the vaccines as well as an employee rights form and a student rights form.
  • Be aware that some hospitals reportedly now have language in their routine treatment consent forms allowing them to vaccinate you (e.g. for flu or pneumonia) without telling you.

Data Collection and Vaccine Passports.  There is concern about proof of vaccination, so called “vaccine passports”, on grounds of privacy and potential discrimination against the unvaccinated. We are bound to hear more about lawsuits on that.

Closing thought

An exemption might help you keep your job, but I have no clue yet if that will help with traveling or other places who fancy requiring vaccines.

Oral Infections are hidden killers – PART 2

When he was on the show 9/25/21, our favorite holistic dentist, Phillip Kozlow, DDS mentioned that since the covid-19 scare, people have been avoiding their routine dental care. He says “Since most dental disease, left untreated, becomes worse, the result has been an increase in dental disease and tooth damage. Perhaps even worse, people with peridontal infections (e.g. gum disease) were more at risk for covid-19.”  Click here for the STUDY demonstrating that “periodontitis was associated with higher risk of ICU admission, need for assisted ventilation and death of COVID-19 patients.” So, ironically, the people avoided going to the dentist because of covid-9 issues were actually putting themselves at more risk for the disease.

Here are Dr. Kozlow’s thoughts on key dental topics: [as usual, italic text in these brackets are my additions.]

Dental infections. Fifty oral pathogens have been found in the plaque in arteries.Another clue that keeping your mouth healthy is good for the rest of your body.

Root Canals

As Tom Levy, MD taught us in last week’s blog Part 1, the worry about root canals is that “Bacteria trapped inside the structure of teeth [they continue to live in the tiny canals which are not removed with the procedure and excrete potent toxins] can migrate throughout the body. They may infect any organ, gland, or tissue and can damage the heart, kidneys, joints, eyes, brain, and endanger pregnant women.” That is why root canals have been associated with so many diseases.

Dr. Kozlow’s comments, “This is a topic I address almost daily. Teeth that are painful or sometimes just sensitive, may have nerve issues in the tooth. This generally means an infection in the nerve in the center and down the length of the roots. At this stage, the patient only has two options…. Extraction of the tooth or root canal therapy. The use of ozone gas and ozonated water during root canal procedure, I believe is a must because ozone is a terrific anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. However, the general medical condition of the patient should be considered.”

Implants

[The implant is the post that goes into the bone. The tooth replacement(s) are then attached to that post.]

If a person is missing teeth and that prevents proper and comfortable mastication of food, implant therapy may be indicated. Implant posts can be made of titanium and/or zirconia porcelain. The general medical condition of the patient should be considered in choosing to have a dental implant and which type.

The vast majority of patients I see with dental implants do fine. Implants have a very high success rate. They can significantly improve one’s life.

I believe both properly performed root canal therapy and dental implants [i.e. with ozone] for most people, who are generally healthy, are not clinically significant in a bad way.

When considering implant therapy, ask the clinicians his or her success rate, what they see as potential complications, who will restore the implant? (i.e. place a crown or bridge on the implant (s)).  What follow up care will be required?

UPDATES:

  • A listener asked Bill Sardi what to take for anxiety. He recommended: Magnesium [I recommend avoiding magnesium oxide. Magnesium L-Threonate is best for this purpose]; Vitamin B1 [I say use either Molecular Multi or Nerve Guardian]; and the amino acid theanine [any brand]. He also said to make sure that you are not anemic and to improve mood with music. He likes [and I do too] the Tachibana High School Marching band.

You can get your booster shot at least 6 months after you complete your second dose of the Pfizer vaccine. The booster shot can help strengthen and prolong your protection against COVID-19.”

  • My bonehead move. I almost gave this cautionary tale on the radio Saturday, but we didn’t have time. I’m very proud that my granddaughter Kayla will be graduating as a physician’s assistant. So, I am getting a head start on making decorations for an elaborate cake that I plan to give her in December. I was experimenting making an object from melted sugar. (That stuff gets up to 300-400 degrees.) A drop of the liquid sugar dropped from a tool onto the most sensitive part of my fingertip. (Ouch!) My first thought was, “oh no! there goes any career as a safe cracker!” Seriously, my instinctive knee-jerk reaction was to put my burning finger in my mouth to cool it off and remove the offending syrup. That plan might work for a dab of mashed potatoes, but now my lip was also burning. My next, more rational thought was better. I stuck my finger in some cold water, peeled off the now solid sugar and covered the burns with Lily of the Desert Aloe Gelly that I always keep right by the stove. I already had a blister, but the aloe took away the pain and made it heal much faster. That Lily of the Desert Aloe Gelly is powerful good stuff.
