Longtime friend of the show (and mine), Fred Pescatore, MD, is one of the most sought-after natural physicians in the country. (You would recognize the names of some of his high-profile patients.) We will start with his opinion of the trending Keto Diet and then take listener calls on whatever interests you. Dr. Fred has written many great books (most are best sellers). They include: The A-List Diet (Lose up to 15 Pounds and Look and Feel Younger in Just 2 Weeks); The Hamptons Diet; The Hamptons Diet Cookbook; Thin For Good; The Allergy and Asthma Cure and the No. 1 best-selling children’s health book, Feed Your Kids Well. Plenty to talk about, right? Sign up for his newsletter (on the right hand side of this page) and receive this report: Reverse Alzheimer’s! (The 30-cent, all-natural “cocktail” that slams the brakes on Alzheimer’s Disease.) Link here to Dr. Pescatore’s YouTube channel. Call the live show with questions at 1-800-281-8255. When Dr. Ross Pelton was on the show last Saturday, he offered our listeners a copy of his FREE Quick Reference Guide to Drug-Induced Nutrient Depletions. Click the title to download it. One of the topics he covers is the number drugs that damage our friendly gut bacteria. My most recent book, The Probiotic Cure: Harnessing the Power of Good Bacteria for Better Health discusses the myriad ways that our gut buddies determine our health, immune function, emotional state, weight and much more. Here is Dr. Pelton’s list of the classes drugs that disrupt our collection of helpful bacteria (our microbiomes):
Fortunately, there are gut friendly natural alternatives to most of those meds as you learn about from HBN’s guests and in the library. If you must take the drugs, at the least, make sure you supplement with Dr. Ohhira’s Probiotics. To protect the bacteria from the meds, allow a couple of hours between them. |

I asked my guest, Dr. Ross Pelton R.Ph., Ph.D., CCN for his take on coronavirus and, especially, the gut connection to immune function. Dr. Pelton is the Scientific Director for Essential Formulas, Inc. Since this is the 20th anniversary of Dr. Ohhira’s Probiotics (DOP) availability in the US, I also asked him about the origin and unique production process of the most unusual and effective probiotic I’ve ever encountered. (I don’t even like calling DOP a “probiotic” because that puts it in a category along with starkly different typical freeze-dried white powder products. Dr. Ohhira’s Probiotics is a concentrate of superfoods fermented for 3 years which creates hundreds of helpful substances.)
