The heavy burden of heavy metals*

Healthy by Nature radio show THIS SATURDAY
test

My first guest is Yohanna Vernon, MD. She is a pediatrician that is Board-certified with the American Pediatric Association and is an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Rocky Vista University of Osteopathic Medicine. (Her practice is in Logan, Utah) She will talk with us about family immune health.

My next guest is me. Jack Brown of Lily of the Desert will interview me about my book on aloe vera. We will focus on topical use but provide some general information as well. We discuss getting a copy of my aloe vera book for just the cost of the shipping and handling ($5). Click here for the book.

QUOTE of the week

“Heavy Metal would not exist without Led Zeppelin, and if it did, it would suck.”

Dave Grohl
(okay, okay. Yes, that is the wrong kind of ‘heavy metal’, but it is late in the day and I’m tired)

 LAST WEEK Show Follow-up

LISTEN to that show in the archives.

Integrative physician, Gus Kotsanis, MD, was my guest the first half of the program. I asked his thoughts about covid-19 and posed questions submitted by listeners on glaucoma, peripheral neuropathy, hormone replacement and Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. The good doc also explained how to help slow aging and reduce joint pain with platelet-rich plasma therapy (PRP) and exosomes.

Next up, Health Educator, Peggy Hall, of TheHealthyAmerican.org returned with education and updates on the use of masks that are promoted (and often mandated) to slow the spread of covid-19. Mentioned: The Duke University study detailing which masks work best. The NEJM study which says that masks in public (outside of medical facility) is mainly a reaction to anxiety. Scientists in Holland say there is not convincing evidence of mask benefits and that there is potential for harm. Read my recent blog on pros and cons of masks. Note: I wear one into stores and restaurants but not in the car or outside. Not sure they do much, but in short bursts, I don’t think the harm is great.
