For too many, the holiday spirit is sapped by the stress of added tasks and special events (not to mention doofuses driving while sending emails to Santa on their smart phones). Since this week was perhaps the busiest of the year, I thought I would try to help reduce stress with the following:

(1) These items from our website’s 24 Suggestions for reducing stress.

  • Going to bed early helps because a rested mind handles issues more calmly and getting up early starts the day un-rushed.
  • Sugar is just “borrowed energy” and you will pay the price later. Minerals in vegetables are calming. Eat for the way you would like to feel.
  • Breathe deeply and relax your muscles for a few seconds several times a day, especially after a tense encounter.

(2) A funny video showing how much worse things could be.

(3) Consider making a little sign like one I have in the office. It says “Calm down. Take one thing at a time. Everything will be all right.”
